Interview about my composition 'The Flood' in response to the 'VLOF 2024'.

This wonderful concert work takes us on a journey through time to the Roman Empire. The composer was inspired by the famous Via Sacra, once the main road through ancient Rome between the Colosseum and the Capitolium. Along the route were several important temples and sanctuaries – hence the name, meaning Sacred Street. Full of atmosphere, this dynamic work has something to offer for all sections of the band, so that playing fun is guaranteed. And of course, it is great to listen to as well!

With this work, composer Filip Ceunen shows he has another side to him, finding his inspiration in music of a lighter genre.

The Flood was commissioned by Music Society Maris Sonores from Biddinghuizen, the Netherlands, on the occasion of its 55th anniversary.

'Oz: the Green Wizard' is a programmatic concert work that describes the story of The Wizard of Oz in 6 continuous movements.

The dark and dramatic theme from the popular HBO series Game of Thrones is one of the most distinctive and effective themes for TV or film to come along in several years.

Emma Philips arranged this music for:

- flute/clarinet/saxophone/brass quartet

'Echo of the Phoenix' was specially composed for the 50th anniversary of the 'Koninklijk Harmonieorkest  Waterschei-Zwartberg (B)'.

Ed Sheeran is one of the successful British artists of the decade, every song he wrote became a top-seller in almost every European country. This medley for quartet contains three of his most famous hits, namely: Sing, Perfect and Shape of You. Simply perfect for any ensemble!

My new overture 'The Decade' was commissioned for the 10th year conducting anniversary of Tania Absillis at 'KKH Breydelzonen', Terhagen (Belgium).

The world premiere of this piece took place at their Christmasconcert on 21/12/2019.

D’Artagnan, a short new work for flexible youth band is the follow-up to a previous piece from the same series – The Three Musketeers. It was commissioned by the 1-1-1 orchestra workshop in Wehr, Germany, where it premiered on the 5th of May 2019 at a play-in for young musicians.
